Casa Museo El Grifo

El Grifo House Museum or El Grifo Wine Museum, is located in the municipality of San Bartolome, occupying the old wineries, built on the volcanic lava of the eighteenth century eruption and dating from 1775.

The building is pure traditional Lanzarote architecture, supported by the wide volcanic stone walls and roofed with wooden beams, most of which come from the scrapping of ships.

Among the different utensils and winery machinery exhibited here, there are very curious and interesting pieces. Highlights include the transfer pump from 1865, a corking machine from 1870, the old grape pressers, an 18th century copper tarp, very old boils and alembics, a sulfating and spraying machinery or the old press where the grapes were stepped on. .
