Esta pequeña reserva se encuentra en los municipios de Firgas y Moya. Se concentra en 5 km de barranco, abierto al norte y profundamente excavado en materiales basálticos recientes, donde la continua acción de desgaste y relleno de materiales ha originado un paisaje muy particular, con barrancos profundos y laderas fuertemente inclinadas y elevadas, que alcanzan en algunos puntos los 200 m de altura.
Existen en el interior del barranco múltiples nacientes de agua y las ruinas de un antiguo hotel-balneario, hoy abandonado. Suma en importancia que la flora cuenta con varias especies amenazadas pertenecientes a géneros propios de laurisilva y, en general, con abundantes endemismos. Este lugar alberga una importante muestra de hábitats amenazados y singulares en Gran Canaria, como son un reducto de laurisilva y el dulceacuícola. También resultan de gran trascendencia los abundantes restos de fósiles que aparecen en distintos lugares de las laderas del barranco.
